FAYETTEVILLE — Two people were arrested in connection with a stabbing Wednesday night.

Kissie Palmer, 38, was arrested in connection with aggravated assault. Melissa Briscoe, 35, was arrested in connection with two counts of battery.

Officers were called about 7:50 p.m. to the parking lot near 870 S. Curtis Ave.

Palmer and Briscoe live on the street and were involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical Tuesday that ended with neighbors separating them. Briscoe said Palmer threatened her and her teenage son with a knife Wednesday, according to their preliminary arrest reports.

In response, Biscoe got a knife and attacked Palmer and accidentally injured a neighbor in the neck. She continued attacking Palmer, who had cuts to her arms and rib cage, according to the reports.

The two people injured were treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Sgt. Anthony Murphy said.

Palmer was arrested after her release from the hospital.
