SPRINGDALE -- Officer Trevor Bowen has been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with a fatal shooting July 26, police spokesman Lt. Jeff Taylor said today.

Bowen shot and killed Iman Joseph Buford, 30, after Buford refused to put down his gun when police told him to and continued to walk toward them, according to a press release issued by Springdale police in July.

Buford was pronounced dead at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. No one else was injured in the incident.

Bowen was put on paid administrative leave after the incident pending the outcome of a State Police investigation. He has returned to work, Taylor said.
