Rogers police investigating shooting

BENTONVILLE -- Rogers police are investigating a possible shooting where officers may have been the intended targets.

Police officers went to 1014 W. Oak St. at 4:02 a.m. today in response to an aggravated burglary in which two subjects had the resident at gunpoint, according to a press release from the Rogers Police Department.

The officers heard gunfire as they arrived on the scene, according to the release.

The release states it was originally thought the shots were fired at the officers, but it is not clear officers were the intended targets.

The masked suspects ran from the scene and police do not have any further descriptions of the pair.

No one was injured in the incident and officers did not return fire, the press release states.

The case is under investigation.
