The Arkansas Department of Transportation is reporting through a social media post that a portion of Interstate 49 is closed due to an accident.
The accident is thought to be a fatal pedestrian accident, according to the post. It occurred close to mile marker 90 and traffic is stopped back to the Central Avenue exit in Bentonville.
Calls to the Arkansas State Police have not been returned yet.
