When carbohydrate-loving comedian Tom Papa isn't doing stand-up, he tends to either be eating, thinking about or making bread. His specialty is sourdough. Papa will take his love for baked goods to the next level in the new Food Network series Baked. It premieres at 9 p.m. Monday followed by another new episode at 9:30.

On the show, the host's mission is to find the country's best breads and pastries. The series kicks off in New York, where he devours glazed donuts covered in every bagel topping, takes a master class in Old World baking and discovers the bready, eggy, cheesy dish khachapuri.

Throughout the show Papa will also visit Detroit, Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New Orleans, New Jersey and Cleveland.

Also premiering this week on Food Network is Bite Club. The six-episode series, which premieres at 8 p.m. Thursday, is hosted by chef Tyler Florence, who hits some of the country's top food cities and pits local chefs against each other in a fight to become their hometown champion.

In each location, five chefs arrive prepared to cook in an unknown kitchen, and are greeted with a game of chance that results in two chefs becoming the competition's judges. The three remaining chefs then go head to head in two rounds of secret ingredient cooking battles, where their peers ultimately decide who becomes the city's champion.
