Beaver Lake

Striped bass are biting well on the north end of the lake.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said anglers report catching good numbers of stripers in the 12- to 20-pound range from Point 5 to the dam. Use brood minnows or shad.

Black bass are hitting top-water lures at first and last light. Try a plastic worm on a drop shot rig, or a jig and pig, at midday. Crappie are biting minnows on the south half of the lake 12 to 15 feet deep.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said channel catfish can be caught with stink bait, nightcrawlers or hot dogs soaked in strawberry Kool-Aid. Use small sunfish or goldfish to catch flathead catfish.

Striped bass are migrating toward the south end of the lake. Brood minnows are a good bait, fished 10 to 12 feet deep. Walleye are biting nightcrawler rigs in the Horseshoe Bend area.

Beaver Tailwater

Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting on Power Bait and nightcrawlers. Use light line for best results. The top lures are small Flicker Shads, small spoons and small jigs.

For fly fishing, try pheasant-tails, midges, hare's ears and Copper Johns in size 14-16.

Lake Fayetteville

Angela Perea at the lake office said some good-sized crappie are biting at the public fishing dock and for anglers in boats. Use jigs or minnows or troll with crank baits. Try top-water lures at first and last light for black bass.

Lake Sequoyah

Mike Carver at the lake office said anglers are catching crappie with minnows two to 15 feet deep. Black bass are biting plastic worms. For bluegill, fish with worms five feet deep. Catfish are biting well on shad or minnows.

Bella Vista

Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker said black bass are biting soft plastic baits near brush and docks at all Bella Vista lakes. Try top-water lures at first and last light.

Swepco Lake

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting all types of soft plastic lures. Try top-water lures at first and last light and on cloudy days.

Siloam Springs Lake

Stroud recommends using top-water lures at first and last light and plastic worms at midday.

Illinois River

Stroud recommends using small grubs, tube baits or Rooster Tails for black bass.

Eastern Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports catfish at Lake Keystone are biting well on cut bait below the dam.

Table Rock Lake

Pete Wenners, a professional guide, said black bass are biting in the creek arms on spinner baits, swim baits and jigging spoons. Try a jigging spoon or a plastic worm on a drop-shot rig 30 to 45 feet deep over treetops in 60 to 80 feet of water.
