FAYETTEVILLE -- Ozark Natural Foods will go ahead and move to the former IGA building downtown.

Real estate agent Sterling Hamilton said the co-op bought the building at 380 N. College Ave. for $3.6 million. The co-op's location at the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center is on the market for $3.7 million, he said.

Renovation work at the new store will begin as soon as possible, Hamilton said. A move-in date has not been set.

"It'll just have to do with permitting and construction and all the things that go along with rehabbing an older building," he said.

The co-op nnounced in July its intention to sell its space at Evelyn Hills and move to the old IGA building, which most recently served as home to CV's Family Foods. It closed in the spring. The deal to sell fell through, however, board members announced last month.
