Continuing education: Guests party to benefit Single Parent Scholarship Fund

A Night of Hope -- benefiting the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Pulaski County -- was held Oct. 2 at the Governor's Mansion.

Guests enjoyed drinks and a buffet of hors d'oeuvres and appetizers while listening to piano music by Stacy Higginbotham.

A program, emceed by Hilary Hunt, honored Cindy Conger and Conger Wealth Management for being a founding member of the Giving Circle and providing financial aid classes to scholarship recipients. Conger was introduced by executive director Lori Lynch.

Tusty Bensel was named as educator of the year and student speaker was scholarship recipient Amy King who is working toward a double major in history and criminal justice.

Chairman of the event was Cody Buck and the host committee included Bonnie Nickol, Janet Korenblat, Cloria Lawson, Cathey Robbins, Vicki Mills and Kim Harper Glenn.

The Single Parents Scholarship Fund of Pulaski County provides support to low income single parent families enrolled in higher education programs.
