Competitors from surrounding states came together Saturday to take part in the Pea Ridge Mule Jump.

Riders competed in several halter and jumping classes and had fun with barrel and flag races during the 30th annual event held east of downtown Pea Ridge.

The event has grown from a few hundred spectators to an estimated 3,000 for last year's event to watch more than 40 mules compete for $4,000 in prize money.

The event features live music and 100 vendors selling food and Ozark-themed gifts.
