Fishing hot spots

ARKANSAS RIVER (LITTLE ROCK POOL) Bass fishing is excellent around rocky points with small shad-colored swimbaits, Rat-L-Traps and green pumpkin Brush Hogs. Bream fishing is fair on crickets at 5-6 feet. Crappie fishing is fair at 5-6 feet on pink minnows and mermaid-colored Crappie Magnets. Catfishing is fair below the dam with skipjack. White bass fishing is excellent, and stripers are hitting 1-ounce, chartreuse bucktail jigs.

LAKE OUACHITA Spotted bass are biting live crawfish, and some topwater action on flukes or Zara Spooks has been good on the west end of the lake. Walleye fishing is very good with CC spoons near brush. Striper fishing is fair on live bait at major creek mouths and main lake points on the eastern and central parts of the lake. Bream fishing is good on crickets and worms at 15-25 feet near brush. Crappie fishing is fair over brush with jigs or minnows at 15-20 feet. Catfish are biting cut bait, live bait and stink bait.

LAKE GREESON Bass are moving into their fall patterns and will only get better as the water cools. Super Spook Jr's, Zara Puppies, Booyah Hard Knockers and small swimbaits are working on main lake points with some schooling action throughout the day. Shaky head-rigged Yum Finesse Worms and dropshots rigged with Yum Kill Shots or Sharpshooters are working on main lake points around brush as well. Crappie are biting over brush at 15-30 feet with minnows or Kalin's Grubs.
