Overturned cattle trailer closes portion of I-40

A multiple-vehicle crash involving a cattle trailer that overturned has shut part of Interstate 40 on Thursday morning, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.

The agency said shortly after 10:15 a.m. that one eastbound lane of the interstate was shut in Franklin County. Traffic was later diverted at the exit near Ozark.

Several cattle were loose on the highway, authorities said, though it was not clear how many.
