Beer thief injures deliveryman's foot

North Little Rock police say a man stole beer from a delivery truck Monday and then drove over the deliveryman's foot when he tried to stop him.

A police report said the incident occurred about 9 a.m. while a 31-year-old Lonoke man was delivering beer to the Si Si Mart at the Hess gas station at 2508 Arkansas 161.

The Golden Eagle of Arkansas employee told officers that while he was in the store, he saw a man remove beer from one of the stalls of his delivery truck and place it in the back seat of a Honda Accord.

The deliveryman ran out of the store and pulled three cases of beer from the stranger's car, the report states. When he tried to remove the remaining item -- a case of Budweiser Lime-A-Ritas -- the stranger got in his car and drove away, running over the deliveryman's foot.

Officers wrote that before the robber fled, he told the deliveryman: "Man, I just had to get you. It was too easy, dog."

The car was last seen traveling north in the 2600 block of Arkansas 161. The deliveryman refused medical treatment at the scene and continued on his route.

The thief was described as a heavy-set black man, between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and wearing a purple shirt.

Robber steals car, cash from eatery

After taking cash from a Little Rock fast-food restaurant Monday night, a robber turned a gun on employees, taking one's keys and fleeing in her car, according to a police report.

Officers were called to the Burger King at 12001 Colonel Glenn Road shortly after 11:30 p.m.

A 23-year-old Little Rock woman told authorities that as workers were cleaning the eatery, the gunman entered through a back door that had been propped open with a rock.

The report states that the gunman forced two employees to fill a bag with cash from the register and safe. The amount of money taken was not disclosed.

The robber then told the 23-year-old to "empty her pockets," and she gave him her car keys and cellphone, police wrote. He fled in her Toyota Corolla, which was later found abandoned on an on-ramp of Interstate 430, according to authorities.

The gunman was described as a black, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds.
