BON APPETIT

Fine wine, food and fun had by all at Vine & Dine

Ambrosia and nectar fit for the gods ... but real, rather than legend, and with some delightful entertainment along with it.

Such were the highlights of the Vine & Dine Wine Reserve Dinner, benefiting Wildwood Park for the Arts' Wildwood Academy of Music and the Arts (WAMA). The event took place Nov. 2 at Chenal Country Club.

A cocktail reception, silent auction and mystery jewelry pull sponsored by Kendra Scott began an evening whose food-and-wine journey was provided with special appreciation to Jordan Davis, executive chef at the country club, and Jonathan Looney, sommelier for O'Looney's Wine and Liquor.

Guests enjoyed a fall harvest salad, paired with Punta Crena Lumassina; Pan Seared Red Snapper, paired with Lioco Estero Chardonnay; Herb Grilled Petit Filet of Beef, paired with Trefethen Oak Knoll Merlot; and Chocolate-Hazelnut Bomb-Chocolate Cake. Casas Del Mar Brut Blanc de Blancs and Kir Royale were two wines served with passed morsels -- Wild Mushrooms and Herbed Goat Cheese Phyllo Tarts and Chorizo Stuffed Dates wrapped in bacon -- during the reception. Seth Barlow of O'Looney's presented the wine pairings.

Lisa Fischer steered an evening that consisted of remarks by event chairmen Cindy and Bob Fields, co-chairmen Sarah and Joseph Falasco, and Wildwood Executive Director Bevan Keating. The program featured performances by Ella Tappe, Maegan Hall and Harry Lance, along with an "educational appeal" for on-the-spot donations.

The Wildwood Academy of Music and the Arts provides access to music and arts education to students of all skill levels.
