Candlelight Dinner spotlights Quapaw Quarter home tour

The Candlelight Dinner for the 54th annual Quapaw Quarter Association tour of homes was held May 12 at Philander Smith College.

The event was in the Sherman E. Tate Student Recreation Center, formerly known as the Old Gym. Built in 1936, the gym features an elaborate barrel ceiling.

Guests enjoyed a buffet-style dinner and bid on works by Arkansas artist John Kushmaul. The works in the silent auction were different views of downtown Little Rock. Ashli Arhens was chairman of the dinner.

The Quapaw Quarter tour featured homes in the Central High School neighborhood.
