Greenwood named new Gravette football coach

Doug Greenwood has been named Gravette's new head football coach during Thursday's school board meeting.

Greenwood, 50, has been an assistant coach for 25 years, including the last five at Oklahoma powerhouse Jenks. He replaces Bill Harrelson, who resigned after 12 years at Gravette to take a similar position at Fayetteville Ramay Junior High.

Greenwood started at Jenks as a running backs coach, moved to offensive line coach and later took on the duties of the team's recruiting coordinator. He was named Jenks' assistant head coach shortly after longtime head coach Allen Trimble retired following the 2017 season.

A full story on the Lions' new coach can be found in Friday's edition of the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
