Beaver Lake
Crappie are biting well in shallow water.
James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers recommends fishing in the backs of coves three feet deep near bushes or any wood cover. Use minnows or soft-plastic crappie lures.
Black bass can be caught with top-water lures early. Spinner baits, chatter baits, square-billed crank baits or plastic worms are good to use. Flipping a jig and pig around bushes is an effective tactic.
Striped bass are biting in the Prairie Creek area on shad or brood minnows.
Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie fishing is good. Fish in shallow water with minnows or jigs around wood cover.
Jug fishermen are catching lots of flathead catfish on jug lines baited with sunfish. Most flatheads are 5 to 7 pounds, but a 42-pounder was caught recently.
For walleye, troll nightcrawler rigs in the Horseshoe Bend area. Striped bass can be caught with shad, brood minnows or by trolling Roadrunners.
Beaver tailwater
Lisa Mullins at Beaver Dam Store recommends trout fishing with Power Bait or nightcrawlers. Midges or nymphs are good flies for trout.
Table Rock Lake is backed up into the tailwater. Fishing is best from a boat. Wade-fishing is limited because of high water.
On the lake side of the dam, white bass are biting well in White Bass Cove north of the Beaver Dam day use area.
Lake Fayetteville
Angela Perea at the lake office said crappie fishing is good. Limits are being caught with minnows or jigs.
Black bass are biting well on plastic worms or crank baits. Bluegill are biting worms or crickets.
Lake Sequoyah
Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie fishing is good in shallow water with minnows or jigs. Black bass are hitting spinner baits or crank baits. Use worms for bluegill or redear.
Swepco Lake
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting plastic worms one to 20 feet deep. The biggest bass are caught at night.
Bella Vista
Harvey Horne at Hook, Line and Sinker said bluegill and redear are biting worms or crickets six to eight feet deep at all Bella Vista lakes.
Black bass are in shallow water and biting Zoom Flukes, jig and pigs or crank baits.
Eastern Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair fishing for black bass at Lake Eucha with crank baits, spinner baits or jig and pigs.
Crappie are biting fair on minnows or jigs.
At Grand Lake, crappie fishing is good with minnows or soft-plastic crappie lures. Catfish are biting shad.
Table Rock Lake
The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good black bass fishing with top-water lures early. Use swim baits or Ned rigs later in the day.
Crappie are biting fair on minnows 15 feet deep around brush and docks.
