WASHINGTON COUNTY

Glory Bound Baptist Church in Goshen, 430 Oxford Bend Road, presents several guest speakers through the month. The Stevens Family from Oklahoma speaks at the 11 a.m. morning service Sunday; a speaker from Gideon's International for the morning and 6 p.m. evening services May 20; and Larry Mitchell at the morning and evening services May 27.

The church plans a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19. Proceeds go to the church building fund.

University of Arkansas will offer a summer class on contemporary Jewish thought, taught by Jacob Adler, associate professor of philosophy and rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville. The course will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 29 to June 29. Topics include: Can women be rabbis? What is a miracle? How should we think about the various streams of Judaism?
