Madelyn Anne Whitley and Mark Sisson Bowman exchanged marriage vows at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in the Wightman Chapel at Scarrit Bennett Center in Nashville, Tenn. Officiating was the Rev. Fred Ball of San Damiano Ecumenical Catholic Church in Little Rock.

The bride is the daughter of Millie and Russell Whitley of Little Rock. Her grandparents are the late Ellen and Joseph Rosenberger and the late Nancy and Aubrey Whitley.

Parents of the groom are Mary Margaret and Dr. Michael Bowman of Mount Pleasant, S.C. He is the grandson of the late Ann and Brendan Coughlin and the late Ruth and Charles Bowman.

The chapel was decorated with arrangements of red and white roses and white carnations. Music was by organist Jennie Smith.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and embroidered appliques embellished with freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. She carried a round bouquet of red roses.

Maid of honor was Amanda Whitley of Little Rock, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Anna Pierattini of Burlington, Vt.; Allison Sage of Staniel Cay, Exumas, Bahamas; Katie Bass of North Little Rock; and Allison Tschiemer of Little Rock. They wore wine-colored halter-style gowns with glittering lace key-hole bodices. Their bouquets were filled with white roses.

Flower girls and ring bearers were Ann Rose, Tranata, David, Brendan and Trayden Bowman of Atlanta, nieces and nephews of the groom.

Kenneth Bowman of Atlanta was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Jason Jenkins of Arnold, Neb.; Andy Stein of Charleston, S.C.; Kevin Brothers of Elkridge, Md.; and Andrew Mullis of Hermitage, Tenn.

A reception at the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville was held after the ceremony.

The bride received a bachelor's degree in American studies from Hendrix College in Conway and a master's degree of social work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a social worker at The Renfrew Center in Brentwood, Tenn.

The groom has earned his certified specialist of wine and certified sommelier certifications. He is a former maitre d'hotel and sommelier at The Alotian Club and is now a sommelier and manager of Flyte World Dining and Wine in Nashville.

After a wedding trip to Raton, N.M., the couple will reside in Nashville.
