Quapaw Quarter home tour set for Central High district

Fans of Little Rock's historic houses had a sneak peek of the next Quapaw Quarter Association's Spring Tour of Homes -- set for Mother's Day weekend. The preview was held March 9 at the Moxy Warehouse, formerly an Arkansas Power & Light warehouse.

The warehouse property, behind Little Rock Central High School's Quigley Stadium, includes a large garage where the event took place. The springlike weather allowed the garage's large doors to be rolled up. Strings of party lights and vintage pendant lamps illuminated the inside. Guests could enjoy treats from Trios, a signature cocktail called Centennial Addition and beer from Stone's Throw Brewing. There was also music by the band Whale Fire.

The Central High School Neighborhood Historic District is the focus of this year's tour and the program included a preview of the tour's six houses on Schiller, Summit and Battery Streets. The tours are May 11-12 and include two special events -- a candlelight tour with dinner and a Mother's Day brunch. For more information about the tours, visit quapaw.com.
