Food from 20 eateries fuels Children's benefit

Arkansas a la Carte, a chance to try tasty bites from more than 20 Little Rock restaurants, was held March 8 at Children's Hall on the Arkansas Children's Hospital campus. The sold-out fundraiser was hosted by the Arkansas Children's Auxiliary.

The theme for the festivities was Fire and Ice. At the event entrance was a large ice sculpture of the hospital logo on a table full of Moscow mules served to guests as they arrived. Red and blue lighting on the ceiling and draped walls emphasized the theme.

Restaurants served their food from tables lining the outside of the room, while tables filled with silent auction items were in the center along with a two-story deejay booth manned by DJ Jonathan from Klassik Entertainment. Underneath was a four-sided bar. On display and included in the silent auction was Art a la Carte, works of art created by patients and a visiting Arkansas artist.

Serving as chairmen of the 15th annual Arkansas a la Carte were Kristen Saffa and Sara Beth Hughes. Jones and Son Fine Jewelry was the presenting sponsor.
