2 in GOP list cash in governor's race

Republican gubernatorial candidate Jan Morgan's campaign account totaled more than $10,000 at the end of last month, Morgan reported.

The Hot Springs Republican raised $21,582 in contributions and spent $33,257 on her primary campaign last month, according to her campaign finance report filed at 10:15 p.m. Thursday with the secretary of state's office. That increased the total amount that Morgan has raised to $59,176 and her total expenses to $48,209, leaving $10,967 in her campaign account as of Feb. 23.

In contrast, Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Rogers reported raising $138,357 and spending $75,973 last month for his primary election campaign. That increased his totals to $2.31 million and $488,580, respectively, leaving $1.82 million in his primary election campaign account as of Feb. 28, according to his report filed Thursday afternoon.

For the general election, Hutchinson reported raising $34,700 and spending nothing last month. That increased his totals to $546,550 and no expenses, respectively, leaving $546,550 in his general election campaign account as of Feb. 28. He is seeking re-election to a second four-year term.
