Lawmakers' responses serve NRA, not public

I wrote letters to both U.S. senators, Rep. Womack and Gov. Hutchinson expressing my views on gun control. I eventually received a reply from all five of them.

My view was a simple one: Ban automatic weapons, period. Only the military needs such weapons.

Every one of their letters was focused only on keeping those weapons out of the hands of the mentally ill. How do we do that? No, the weapons should not be available at all to anyone.

These public servants are not serving the public. They are serving the NRA and ensuring campaign contributions in the future. Shame on them all.
