PREP SOFTBALL

Greenwood 15, Waldron 1

The Lady Bulldogs scored 11 first-inning runs and ran over Waldron in nonconference action Monday.

Greenwood belted eight doubles with Ericka Calderon, Mariah Hamilton and Rheding Wagoner bashing two each. Wagoner had four RBIs and Hamilton drove in three.

Kimmie Colyer and Abbi Clem combined to limit Waldron to just four hits. Colyer earned the win.

Gravette 11, Lincoln 0

Lexi Gerner pitched a two-hitter to lead Gravette to a shutout win over Lincoln.

Gravette unleashed a torrid hitting attack with seven extra-base hits. Jaki Chalk was 2-for-3 with a home run, triple and four RBIs. Gabbi Scott was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Bailey Elmore was 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs. Hannah Cole, Emily Ellis and Sumer Kaba each had a double.

Farmington 2, Rogers High 1

Paige Devecsery went 2-for-3 and picked up the save with scoreless seventh inning to help Farmington claim the nonconference win.

The Lady Cardinals scored twice in the top of the third thanks to RBI-singles by Alyssa Reed and Madison Parrish. Courtney Storey had two hits for Rogers (3-4), while Allyn Hensley drove in the Lady Mounties' lone run.

McKenzi Bogan picked up the win, allowing a run on five hits over six innings. She struck out three and did not walk a batter. Devecsery pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.

Sadie Beeman took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits over five innings. She struck out seven and walked one.

Rogers Heritage 4, Ozark 2

Berkley Cole's two-out, three-run home run highlighted a big first inning that helped the Lady War Eagles claim a nonconference win Monday.

Lora Brown drove in a run with a groundout to tie the game 1-1, but Cole's home run gave Heritage (5-3) the lead for good.

Cole, Alexa Enos and Baleigh Birdcreek had two hits each for Heritage. Allyson Fultz picked up the complete-game victory in the circle. She allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings, while striking out three and walking two.

Dover 5, Charleston 4

Dover was down to its final out before the Lady Pirates rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and ruined Charleston's season opener.

Charleston scored three times in the third and added a solo run in the sixth for a 4-0 lead. Dover, however, scored three in the bottom of the sixth before winning the game in the seventh.

Sidney Tate had two hits and drove in two runs for Charleston (0-1), while three other Lady Tigers had two hits apiece.

Pea Ridge 13, Gentry 2

The Lady Blackhawks scored seven first-inning runs and cruised to a run-rule win Monday.

Blakelee Winn was 3-for-3 with a double to lead Pea Ridge. Halley Laster, Stephanie Chase, Aiden Dayberry and Ravin Cawthon had two hits each.

Dayberry earned the win in the circle, scattering eight hits with six strikeouts and no walks.

Meledy Owens had two hits for the Lady Pioneers.

PREP BASEBALL

Elkins 7, Prairie Grove 1

Bryce Parrish and Will Trolinger combined to limit Prairie Grove to five hits with eight strikeouts as the Elks downed the Tigers on Monday.

Parrish went 5 1/3 innings to earn the win with four strikeouts. Trolinger pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and did not allow a hit with four strikeouts.

Chase Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Elkins. Camren Dunn was 3-for-4, and Trolinger was 2-for-4.

Chase Wade had two hits for Prairie Grove.

Lamar 11, Paris 9

The Warriors struck in the late innings and held off Paris in a slugfest Monday.

The game was tied 3-3 until the sixth inning when Lamar scored seven runs to take a 10-3 lead. Paris rallied for six in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull within 10-9 before Lamar tacked on an insurance run in the seventh.

Wayden Copeland was 4-for-4 with two RBIs for Lamar. Brady James was 3-for-4, and Justin Dillard was 2-for-3. Josh Copeland and Jerron Massengale each drove in two runs for the Warriors.

Charleston 12, Scranton 6

Hayden Smart was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Tigers on Monday.

Kaden Benge had a double and two RBIs, and Dean Lea and Hunter Kengla also had two hits each for Charleston.
