Marianna man, 32, charged in slaying

A Marianna man has been charged with capital murder in the death of Jason Parker.

Jamie Hart, 32, was charged Wednesday in Lee County Circuit Court with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, four counts of tampering with physical evidence, arson and theft by receiving.

The homicide took place around May 16, according to the court filing. Hart was arrested Jan. 10.

Jason Carter, the deputy prosecuting attorney for Arkansas 1st Judicial Circuit, said the affidavit of probable cause to arrest Hart had been sealed so he couldn't provide more details Thursday.

Hart is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

According to June 1 article in the Times-Herald of Forrest City, police found Parker's dismembered body May 24 in the St. Francis National Forest south of Marianna.

Parker was 36 years old, according to the article.
