Trout Unlimited sets banquet

The 32nd annual Conservation Banquet and Auction of the Arkansas Trout Unlimited chapter will be held Friday at Fayetteville Town Center.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $85 for a couple, $50 for a single adult and $20 for youths 16 and younger. Sponsorship tables are available.

The evening includes live and silent auctions, a catered dinner, raffle items and a short awards program.

Tickets may be purchased at the door. Advance tickets are available at McLellan's Fly Shop in Fayetteville or from Ron Blackwelder, 713-819-6980.

Walk explores Fayetteville

Ozark Hill Hikers will walk in Fayetteville on Saturday. Five or 10 kilometer routes visit the University of Arkansas, town square and historic neighborhoods.

Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. at Walgreen's, 524 S. School St. The walk begins at 10 a.m.

Beast Feast features expo, barbecue

Beast Feast NWA outdoor expo is set for Saturday at Cross Church, 1719 Johnson Road, in Springdale.

The expo features vendor booths and exhibits, Daisy air rifle range and a barbecue dinner. Cost is $20.

Doors open at 4 p.m. The meal is at 6 p.m. Guest speaker is Jeff Danker with Buck Ventures.

Fur trade topic of program

A program about early Arkansans and the fur trade will be presented at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bella Vista Public Library.

Denis Dean, a Northwest Arkansas Master Naturalist, will discuss French and Spanish explorers who came into what is now Arkansas. He'll also discuss wildlife the explorers encountered and how the explorers worked with Native Americans.

Club ties white bass flies

Tightlines Fly Fishers will meet March 20 at Jim's Razorback Pizza, 4093 W. Sunset, in Springdale. Social time starts at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is at 6:30.

Anyone interested in fishing is welcome. Members will by tying flies for white bass fishing.
