SHINING STARS

Cosmic constellation: Nonprofit ACCESS benefit honors supporters, friends

The stars were aligned and the rain stopped falling Feb. 24 for the 20th annual Starry, Starry Night benefiting ACCESS at the Little Rock Marriott.

ACCESS, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, provides education, therapy and training for children and young adults with learning disabilities on two campuses -- the ACCESS Stella Boyle Smith Early Childhood Campus on Breckenridge Drive and the ACCESS Academy and Youth Adult Campus on Mississippi Street.

Several people were honored during the seated dinner including Lynn and George O'Connor, devoted philanthropists; Shining Stars Kelly O'Connor and Brandon Freville; foundation supporters Grace and John Steuri; the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, community support; Bank of the Ozarks, corporate partner; and Scott, Libby, Wally and Wyatt Davis and their therapy dogs Chewy and Josie, volunteer services.

The evening included a live auction featuring a weeklong Puerto Vallarta vacation at an 11,000-square-foot villa with a personal chef; a white-tailed buck hunt at an Oklahoma game preserve; and an instant wine cellar of 36 bottles of hand-selected vino.
