Supporters of the Arkansas Arts Center crowded into its lower-level lobby Feb. 27 to get a sneak-peek at the concept design for the renovation of the 81-year-old museum.
Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, gourmet popcorn and other treats before gathering in the Children's Theatre for a presentation on the $70 million renovation.
The renovation, revealed earlier in the day, is scheduled to break ground in fall 2019 and be completed by early 2022. It includes uncovering the museum's original Museum of Fine Arts facade and using it as a new entrance. A second floor will be added for exhibition space, as well as many more improvements.
