Robber's tool said to be a saw blade

A robber armed with a saw blade took cash and a phone from a Little Rock man early Thursday, according to a police report.

The 34-year-old victim told officers that the holdup occurred about 3 a.m. while he was dropping a friend off at a residence in the 7700 block of Geyer Springs Road.

Authorities said the assailant approached the Little Rock resident's vehicle and stuck a saw blade to his side. The man's wallet with $80 inside, his cellphone and keys, and a suitcase were listed as taken.

The victim said he was able to get out of the vehicle and run to a nearby gas station.

The robber was described as a muscular black man about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds.

NLR woman faces charge of assault

A North Little Rock woman accused of threatening someone with a knife told officers she "would've just stabbed" the victim if she knew she would be charged with aggravated assault either way, police said.

Authorities responded to the Burlington store at 4220 E. McCain Blvd. about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to a call about a break-in.

There, a 43-year-old woman told authorities that a woman, later identified as 34-year-old Cheryl Spencer, had threatened her with a pocketknife.

Police said that the victim suspected that Spencer's boyfriend had broken into her car while she was shopping and had asked Spencer to wait with her until the police arrived.

Spencer said she didn't want to get involved, according to a report from the Police Department.

The 43-year-old told authorities that Spencer pulled out the knife and pointed it at her when she began following her, the report said.

An officer wrote that while on the way to the Pulaski County jail, Spencer said: "If I would've known I was gonna catch an aggravated assault charge, I would've just stabbed the b***h!"

She remained at the jail Thursday, records show, and no bail had been set. The North Little Rock resident faces charges of aggravated assault and obstructing government operations.

Friends fight over dog; police called

North Little Rock police are investigating after a woman said a family friend threatened to shoot her while arguing about ownership of a pit bull terrier.

The 26-year-old victim told officers a family friend ran off with her dog while at a get-together Sunday at her mother's house, according to a report from the Police Department.

Officers wrote that the 18-year-old suspect recently had his pit bull terrier stolen and believed the dog was actually his.

The North Little Rock woman, who said she bought the animal from another man three months ago, arranged to meet the teen Monday afternoon to discuss the matter, authorities said. The conversation became increasingly argumentative, and he refused to return the dog, police wrote.

The report states he loaded the dog into a blue Honda Civic and drove away while pointing a black handgun at the woman. He reportedly said, "I'll shoot y'all" before leaving the area.

The woman called police at 3:45 p.m., saying she wanted to press charges because she couldn't get her dog back.

The suspect had not been arrested as of Thursday morning, North Little Rock police spokesman Amy Cooper said.
