Freshii to open in Bentonville

BENTONVILLE -- Rice and quinoa bowls, frozen yogurt and smoothies will be on the menu after a new restaurant opens downtown next month.

Franchise partner Paul Hardin is opening the first Freshii in Arkansas with a grand opening planned for July 17.

Although Hardin has no previous experience in the restaurant industry, he said he and his wife were meal preppers who prioritized healthy eating.

"There was a disconnect in our busy lifestyles," Hardin said.

Hardin said he began looking to open a restaurant that would cater to any diet. Freshii diners can find an array of custom bowls, soups, wraps and salads, according to its website.

Headquartered in Toronto, Freshii has more than 300 locations in 20 countries, according to its website. Most are in Canada and the United States. Freshii has been serving up kale since 2005.

Born and raised in Northwest Arkansas, Hardin landed on a spot at 1335 S. Main St., Suite 1, in Bentonville. Freshii's hours of operation will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
