Two people were found fatally shot in Jefferson County on Friday night, authorities said, and a suspect was identified by investigators.
Sheriff's deputies responded about 9 p.m. to Arkansas 15 North in the community of Tucker in reference to a shooting, according to a news release.
A person was found dead inside a vehicle along the highway, the sheriff's office said. Another occupant died while being taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
The release noted that both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds.
Authorities said that from witness accounts, investigators were able to identify a shooting suspect. That person's name was being withheld "pending further investigation."
