The state police report noted that Allen "lost control" of the motorcycle.

Around 4:10 p.m., 22-year-old Justin H. Waldroop of Fort Smith died after losing control of his westbound Suzuki motorcycle in the 6400 block of Rye Hill Road in Fort Smith, another report states.

Authorities say the motorcycle was traveling at a "high rate of speed" when it struck the passenger side of an eastbound Toyota trying to turn into a driveway.

Waldroop died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, according to authorities. Another person traveling on the Suzuki, 21-year-old Christina Swanson of Fort Smith, was listed as hurt.

Also injured were three people in the Toyota, including 60-year-old driver Lisa C. Roland of Van Buren. The report listed the injured passengers as 28-year-old April Roland of Van Buren and 29-year-old Amy Smith of Sallisaw, Okla.

Another crash shortly after 4 p.m. on Arkansas 141 in Jonesboro killed Daniel Ray Cox, 54, of Bay, according to a preliminary report.

Police say a southbound Jeep drove into the path of Cox's northbound Honda motorcycle while trying to turn onto Craighead County Road 780. The Jeep's driver was not identified.

In all three wrecks, the weather was described as clear and roads were said to be dry.

A 9-year-old was killed and four people were hurt when a pickup crashed Sunday afternoon, according to the state police, and two people now face charges in the crash.

A preliminary crash report states that the wreck occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Cowface Road in Lowell, south of Arkansas 264.

Nathaniel Aaron Clark, 29, of Springdale was driving a 2004 Nissan Titan northwest when he lost control of the vehicle, authorities were first told. The pickup traveled off the road and hit several trees.

A girl, whose name was not released, suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.

Also listed as hurt were Clark, 31-year-old Sabrina Danae Crowe of Springdale and two girls ages 6 and 4.

Crowe and Clark had been drinking before the crash, authorities said.

In initial interviews, Clark told deputies he was the driver and that a vehicle towing a boat had run him off the road. He was arrested Sunday on a negligent-homicide charge. According to the affidavit, Crowe said she and Clark had drunk about three beers each before getting in the pickup.

Further investigation revealed that no other vehicle had caused the crash and that Crowe was actually the driver, the document states, and authorities amended the charges for the two.

Clark is now charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution and three counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Crowe faces charges that include negligent homicide, DWI, reckless driving and three counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

Both remained at the Benton County jail Tuesday afternoon, records show.

The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the Benton County wreck, police said.

State police said a man died in a Pulaski County crash after suffering a "medical complication" while driving Sunday night.

Robert Earl Linker, 57, of Jacksonville was driving south at 10:50 p.m. on U.S. 67/167 near its intersection with Redmond Road in Jacksonville when he "experienced a medical complication" and lost control of his 2004 Chevrolet, according to a preliminary crash report.

The Chevrolet left the road and hit a cable barrier.

Conditions were described as clear and dry at the time of the crash.

A 19-year-old from Rison died early Sunday when he was thrown from an Audi A6, authorities said.

Justin Dakota Wright was driving the 1999 Audi west on Arkansas 114 in Rison when the car veered off the right shoulder in a curve, according to an Arkansas State Police report. It happened about 10 p.m.

Wright "overcorrected after leaving the roadway and was never able to regain control," the report said, noting the Audi spun, hit a tree, and overturned multiple times.

Wright was thrown from the vehicle, police said. He was airlifted to CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.

Conditions at the time of the single-vehicle wreck were said to be clear and dry.
