Shot door-kicker, resident tells police

North Little Rock police said they are investigating after a suspected intruder was shot Tuesday morning while breaking into a home.

When officers responded shortly after 11 a.m. to the Somerset Drive address, the resident told them he had armed himself after hearing kicking at his front door.

The North Little Rock man told the intruder he had a gun, but the kicking continued until the door was forced open, according to a news release from the Police Department.

The intruder was reportedly shot as he entered the home and then fled to a nearby hospital, where authorities found him receiving treatment.

Bullet fired through Taco Bell door in LR

No one was injured Monday when a shooter fired through the front door of a Taco Bell in Little Rock, police said.

Officers responded at 11:45 p.m. to the restaurant at 4424 W. Markham St. and found a bullet hole in the glass entrance, according to a police report.

Four employees told authorities they were in the building working when they heard the gunshot, but they did not see the shooter.

Floridian with gun arrested at Capitol

A Florida man was arrested Friday outside the state Capitol on a charge of carrying a loaded weapon on Capitol grounds, authorities say.

State Capitol Police approached a “suspicious person” sitting on the grounds of the Capitol about 3:30 a.m., an arrest report shows. When the man stood up, officers saw the butt of a firearm sticking out of his pocket.

Police identified the man as 33-year-old Guilermo Carrilo Labrador of Hialeah, Fla. He also faces a charge of carrying certain prohibited weapons, records show. As of Tuesday evening he was being held in lieu of $4,000 bond at the Pulaski County jail, according to the online inmate roster. He is scheduled to appear in court July 24.

37 pounds of pot in SUV lead to arrest

Police say they arrested a man Sunday morning after finding more than 35 pounds of marijuana in his SUV outside a west Little Rock eatery.

Dallas Jackson, 30, of Little Rock faces one felony count of possession of drugs, records show.

Shortly before 10:50 a.m., officers responded to a call of people smoking in the parking lot of Wendy’s at 10924 Colonel Glenn Road, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.

Officers observed a bag of “green veggie matter” in the lap of one occupant, later identified as Jackson, seated inside a white Nissan Murano, authorities said.

When asked if he had any additional drugs in the SUV, Jackson reportedly replied that he had “a little more.” In total, police seized 37 pounds of marijuana.

Jackson’s name did not appear in online records for the Pulaski County jail as of Monday afternoon.

Man, 38, arrested in break-in, theft

A man is accused of stealing a portable air conditioner from a North Little Rock business on Sunday, authorities say.

Shortly after 6 a.m., police responded to a burglary alarm at Stage Audio Electronics at 1317 North Hills Blvd., according to an arrest report. Officers noted that the electronics repair shop’s front door was shattered.

Police then saw Antonio Taylor, 38, riding a bike to the west of the store with a portable air conditioning unit on his shoulder, the report states. When officers stopped him, he was reportedly bleeding from a fresh wound on his forearm.

The store’s owner arrived and said the air conditioner Taylor was carrying was missing from inside the shop, according to the report. Taylor later admitted to the theft, according to the report.

As of Monday evening, Taylor was being held at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $20,000 bond, records show. He faces charges of commercial burglary and felony property theft.

Manhandled, items stolen, LR man says

A robber shoved a 45-year-old Little Rock man twice while stealing a laptop computer and $220 from his wallet, according to a police report.

The man told officers who responded to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary on Monday night that the holdup had taken place about 2 p.m. Saturday.

He said a stranger shoved him to the ground before taking the cash from his wallet, then took his backpack with the laptop inside, the report states.

Robbers take wallet of 84-year-old in LR

An 84-year-old man was robbed Monday morning at a Little Rock gas station by three people who pinned him down and took his wallet, police said.

The man told officers the crime occurred shortly before 10:45 a.m. as he was parked at the gas pumps at the Quick Fuel Mart, 13420 Otter Creek Parkway.

According to a report from the city’s Police Department, the Little Rock resident had dropped his keys between the seats in his pickup and was trying to retrieve them when three strangers pushed him against one of the seats.

The trio pinned him down and took his wallet from his pants pocket before fleeing south on Stagecoach Road in a white four-door car, the report states. The 84-year-old’s Social Security card, a debit card and $200 were listed as stolen.

The suspects were all described as black males, all about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds.
