BENTONVILLE -- Douglas Pershing left court a free man Monday after prosecutors announced he wouldn't be charged in connection with allegations of sexual assault involving two children.

"You are discharged and free to go," Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green told Pershing after prosecutors said during the arraignment the family didn't want the children to testify in court about the alleged incidents.

Pershing was arrested in September in connection with sexual assault, a felony. He was accused of sexually abusing two girls, ages 4 and 2, at his home in Bella Vista.
