Ostomates

This support group is offered to anyone with an ostomy, preparing for an ostomy or caring for someone with an ostomy. It meets from 2 to 4 p.m. June 17 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. The educational meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Diana Gallagher and Jennifer Jeurgens will lead a discussion regarding their attendance at the ostomy conference.

SUV

The Rogers Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will meet at 7 p.m. June 18 at Foghorns, 2221 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

The Fort Smith SUV will meet at 7 p.m. June 21 at Western Sizzlin', 5720 Rogers Ave. in Fort Smith. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization honoring the heritage of the men who fought for the United States during the Civil War. The meeting is open to all.

Cancer

Viviendo con Cancer (Living with Cancer) is a supportive and educational group for adult Hispanic patients, caregivers, families and friends coping with any type of cancer. All group communication will be in Spanish. The group will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. June 18 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale.

Pieces 'N Patches

Pieces 'N Patches quilt group will meet at 10 a.m. June 18 at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th St. in Rogers.

Toni Serret will lead a tote bag workshop featuring the "Pockets-A-Plenty" bag.

The group meets at 1:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month for programs and at 10 a.m. on the third Monday for workshops. Visitors are welcome.

Stitched

Stitched With Love is a group formed for the purpose of sewing quilts, hats and pillows for children at Arkansas Children's Hospital. If you love to sew and are looking for a rewarding experience, you are invited to join them for their next meeting at 9:30 a.m. June 19 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis in Pea Ridge. Please bring completed quilts and scissors, as the group will be cutting batting for new kits.

Democrats

The Northwest Arkansas Senior Democrats will meet at noon June 19 at Western Sizzlin' in Springdale. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and costs $12.

GOP Women

The Benton County Republican Women's club will meet at noon June 19 at the Pleasant Crossing Golden Corral in Rogers. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. Guests are invited.

The program will be AAS-American Speaks. This organization works to inspire and educate audiences to become involved in the political process and live, speak and vote their traditional American values.

The monthly meeting of the Fleet Reserve Association and Auxiliary will be at noon June 24 at the Clark Pavilion at Lake Atalanta Park in Rogers.

Orchids

The Orchid Society of the Ozarks will meet at 1:30 p.m. June 24 at Northwest Technical Institute, 709 S. Old Missouri Road in Springdale. Bob Pettibone, from the Springfield (Mo.) Orchid Society, will speak on his experience in Cymbidium culture.

Anyone interested in growing orchids is welcome to attend. The objective of the society is to stimulate interest in orchids and their culture. Monthly raffles for members and occasional public auctions offer affordable orchids and supplies for new or experienced growers.

Calico Cut-Ups

The Calico Cut-Ups, a quilt guild in Bella Vista, will meet at 1 p.m. June 25 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive.

Liz Granberg, designer and owner of Gypsy Dreamer Quilts, will present the program on making quilts with kaleidoscopic hexes, using seven fabric panels. She will also be the vendor at the meeting, selling her patterns and kits.

The workshop at the meeting will be presented by Susan Richmond, a member of the guild. She will demonstrate how to make a Camden bag.

Travel Club

The Bella Vista Travel Club will meet at 6 p.m. June 25 at First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista.

The club will go over some of the trips that are planned for 2018-19, including 10 days in Canada and New England in September on the Princess Cruise line.

The guest speaker will be from Collette Tours to talk about the Pacific Northwest and California, featuring Washington, Oregon and California.

Cancer Support

Hope Cancer Resources offers a support group for men and women living with any type of stage IV cancer. The group will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 29 at Hope Cancer Resources. Members must RSVP.

Radio Club

The Hogville Amateur Radio Club has announced classes available to interested parties. General classes for amateur radio operators with a technician class license will be from 7 to 9 p.m. July 9 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 14 and 21. Technician class for FCC entry-level radio license will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 and 27. VE testing for all amateur radio licenses will be at 3 p.m. July 21 and Oct. 27.

All events will take place at the Springdale Fire Station No. 1, 417 Holcomb St. There is no cost for the classes, and only a modest cost for course materials.
