Police continuing investigation in Siloam shooting

BENTONVILLE -- An 18-year-old Siloam Springs resident was shot in the abdomen and hand in a Tuesday night shooting, according to Capt. Derek Spicer.

Spicer, a spokesman for the Siloam Springs Police Department, said police went at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday to 1050 N. Britt St. in response to a gunshot victim.

Police officers and medical staff found Chance Cooper with gunshot wounds and transported him to a hospital in critical condition, Spicer said.

Spicer said officers collected several items of evidence and began interviewing neighbors and witnesses.

Persons of interest have been identified and the investigation is evolving and developing, he said.

Police said the suspect's vehicle is a red Honda in a Wednesday press release.
