The Little Rock Zoo's newest baby gorilla now has a name: Bukavu.
The male western lowland gorilla, born June 20, is named for a city in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
More than 4,000 votes were cast for the baby's name in a poll on the zoo's website. The name Bukavu received 1,603 votes, while Sangha received 1,566 and Azingo got 934.
Bukavu is the third gorilla born at the zoo and the first since 2012, zoo Director Susan Altrui said.
