Authorities in Arkansas have arrested a man accused in the death of a woman last seen nearly two years ago.
Hot Spring County Sheriff Mike Cash said Thursday that Donald Smith was arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of Susan Cooper.
Cooper, then 45, disappeared from Malvern in September of 2016, authorities previously said. Her body has not been found.
The FBI, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Malvern Police Department, Clark County sheriff’s office, and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission assisted in the investigation.
In November of 2017, the FBI and the DEA offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Cooper’s disappearance.
