Blood centerseeks donors

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks strives for area blood reserves to be at around a three-day supply for all blood types. The center at this time has at least a three-day supply of all types. Since it takes around 200 donations per day to meet area needs, the public is urged to continue to help by donating at a CBCO blood drive or donor center near them.

Red Crossneeds blood

After issuing an emergency call for blood and platelet donors in early July, the American Red Cross continues to face an emergency blood shortage. Eligible donors of all blood types are urged to give now. As a special thank you, all those who come to donate blood or platelets July 30 through Aug. 30, will receive a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card via email.

Purple Heartceremony set

Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks will hold the annual Military Order of the Purple Heart Recognition Ceremony at 11 a.m. Aug. 7 in the Auditorium of Building 3. Marine Cpl. Aaron Mankin, military and veteran liaison for Congressman Steve Womack, will be the keynote speaker. The program will also include a Patriot of the Year award presentation. The event is free and the community is encouraged to attend and honor those who have been honored with this prestigious award.

Tri Cycle Farmsholds ceremony

Tri Cycle Farms will hold a 7th birthday celebration open house from 9 a.m.to noon Aug. 11 at the farm, 1705 N. Garland Ave. in Fayetteville. Learn about programs and upcoming events, enjoy refreshments and take a garden tour at this family-friendly event.

Shiloh hostsradio day

The Bella Vista Radio Club will set up a special station at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 11 to answer questions about amateur radio and to give visitors a chance to talk on the radio with operators from around the world.

The museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Ave. in downtown Springdale.
