OPEN HOUSE

Cornish House opened for Preserve Arkansas

Jill Judy and Mike Brown opened their home July 19 for A Century at the Cornish, a fundraiser for Preserve Arkansas.

Named the Cornish House, the large scale Craftsman-style house was designed by Little Rock architect Theo Sanders and was built in 1917 for Ed and Hilda Cornish. It is a second home for the current owners who also make it available for rent through VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner).

Guests enjoyed a full bar, a buffet of finger foods, tours of the home and a chance to win a three-night stay at the Cornish House through a raffle.

Before a guided tour of the home, executive director Rachel Patton thanked the hosts, welcomed guests and noted that Preserve Arkansas is the only statewide nonprofit focused on preserving Arkansas' architectural and cultural resources.
