ASU students land science internships

Six Arkansas State University students are pursuing internships over the summer at the Arkansas Biosciences Institute on the Jonesboro campus.

The internship program provides basic support for ASU's undergraduate science majors who want research experience in life sciences or applications of life sciences during the summer of their sophomore or junior years.

Each student is matched with a faculty mentor who is conducting research related to biotechnology or biology from one of several departments and colleges, based largely on the student's interests. Selection is also based on academic credentials.

The students are:

• Jose Williams of Cave City.

• Hailey Campbell of Leslie.

• Steven "Drew" Chambers of Carlisle.

• James Sandusky of McCrory.

• Perri Wright of Brookland.

• Noah Brown of Jonesboro.
