A "pet detective" in central Arkansas tracked down a stolen French bulldog puppy, and a woman has been arrested in the case, authorities said Friday.

A 25-year-old breeder told Conway officers that she was selling some puppies on the PuppyFind website, and a woman named "Michelle" contacted her.

They met Wednesday outside Sam's Club at 250 South Amity Road in Conway so the woman could buy a male puppy, according to a report from the city's Police Department. Once the dog had walked around a bit, "Michelle" -- later identified as 20-year-old April Folse of Benton -- picked up the puppy and told the breeder she wanted to go fill out the paperwork.

The 25-year-old told police that when she turned back around, Folse was jumping into a black SUV with the dog, according to reports.

According to a Facebook post from the Conway Police Department, Little Rock police helped with a detective's investigation, and the dog was eventually tracked down. The puppy is now safely back with its owner, police said.

Folse faces a felony charge of theft of property, the post states. It was unclear when she was arrested, but she did not appear on the online rosters of either Pulaski or Faulkner County's jail as of Friday afternoon.
