WASHINGTON COUNTY

The University of Arkansas offers a course on introduction to Jewish languages during the fall semester, taught by Jacob Adler, rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville. The class meets from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

The course will introduce the Hebrew alphabet and several languages written in Hebrew letters — ancient and modern Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish.

BENTON COUNTY

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., presents its “Summer Hymn Sing.” From July 15 to Sept. 2, the congregation will sing five favorite hymns chosen by the church members each Sunday during the 10 a.m. worship service.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., offers summer day camp for children who have completed kindergarten through the sixth grade. The camp meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to July 27. Cost is $100 per week.

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., begins a new eight-week Bible study Thursday, based on the book Really Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs. The class meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 6 to 8 p.m. each Thursday. Cost is $16.

United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, sponsors the ULC Men’s Club as it presents Tom Judson, chief operating officer of the Bella Vista Property Owners Association, speaking at 8 a.m. Monday.

The church offers a summer Bible study for the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, led by the Rev. Karen Fowler-Lindemulder, at 9:30 a.m. July 16.

The church plans a movie night at 6:30 p.m. July 26, showing The Greatest Showman. Popcorn is provided.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., presents its choir singing the National Anthem on Friday at the Arkansas Natural’s baseball game in Springdale.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. Pantry organizers request donations of canned vegetables, pinto or kidney beans, large bars of hand soap and “Best Choice” bar codes, which can be cashed in for purchase of items.

Millwood Christian Church in Rogers, 3450 W. Pleasant Grove Road, plans a Bingo night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Proceeds support the church’s program of donations of personal care items to those in need.
