SUV intruder robs, assaults driver in LR

A 51-year-old man told police he was robbed early Thursday by a gunman who entered his vehicle while he was stopped at a Little Rock intersection.

The Jacksonville resident said he had left "Midtown" and was in his Kia Sorrento when a stranger got into the SUV and pointed a handgun at his head, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department. The victim jumped out of the vehicle, but the assailant began to chase him.

The gunman eventually tackled the victim, and his head hit the ground, the report states. Officers noted the Jacksonville man had a "bleeding abrasion" on the back of his head that was about 1-inch long.

Police said the robber took the victim's cellphone and wallet, which contained several licenses, and identification and credit cards.

Gunshot victim said to brush off police

An 18-year-old who was shot in a Little Rock parking lot early Thursday did not cooperate with officers and doesn't want to press charges, according to a police report.

Authorities responded shortly before 12:45 a.m. to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary, where they found the young man with a gunshot wound in his left thigh.

He told officers he was shot while in a parking lot near the intersection of Colonel Glenn Road and South University Avenue. A person he knows as "CJ" reportedly took him to the hospital.
