Man's ride home takes turn to jail

A Jacksonville man who claimed to "own the United States" reportedly stole two cakes from Kroger, threatened to arrest two police officers and kicked the window of a patrol car that was giving him a ride home Saturday.

Officers responding to a shoplifting call on Gregory Place in Jacksonville met Gary Allen Johnson, 28, who told officers he had amnesia and could not remember his name or where he lived. One of the officers, however, said he recognized Johnson from previous encounters while on duty.

Officers said they could not determine whether Johnson was under the influence of narcotics or alcohol, but, after returning the cakes they decided to drive him to his residence. While trying to determine where Johnson lived, officers said Johnson began kicking the door and window of the patrol car, bending the metal and cracking the glass.

After officers got him out of the car and handcuffed him, Johnson reportedly began to tell the officers he owned the United States and that they were going to be arrested.

Officers arrested Johnson on charges of criminal mischief, terroristic threatening and disorderly conduct. He was still in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday evening in lieu of $3,500 bond.

Abducted, drugged, man tells LR police

A 38-year-old man told police Monday that he was forced last week to travel to a Little Rock apartment, where he was drugged and robbed at gunpoint.

The man said he had driven to 65th Shop & Stop, 6402 Butler Road, around 9 p.m. Friday to buy cigarettes, according to a report from the city's Police Department.

As the Mabelvale resident got out of his vehicle, a stranger with a handgun approached him, he said.

The assailant placed a black nylon bag with a drawstring over the 38-year-old's head, ordered him into a vehicle and threatened to kill him if he did not comply, the report states.

Police say the two then traveled to Terra Vista Apartments at 4811 Terra Vista Circle. When they entered an apartment, the robber reportedly ordered the man to drink a bottle of water.

The 38-year-old "started to hallucinate and began to lose his memory shortly thereafter," he told officers.

Authorities said the abductor was able to take $2,000 that the man had hidden in a sock.

The man eventually escaped and tried to get help by knocking on a nearby door but was eventually arrested, he told police. The report states that he was taken to the Pulaski County jail Friday on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

According to the man, he went to a Jacksonville hospital after his release from jail, and a toxicology report showed he had Ecstasy in his blood, which he described as a "date rape drug." Police noted he did not have the medical records Monday while reporting the crime.

The man told officers that he waited to alert them because he had drugs in his system and was "unable to collect himself" until Monday.

Man faces charges after woman tied up

A man was arrested after he tied up the mother of his child inside a Little Rock home during an argument, police said.

Christopher Williams, 29, of Little Rock was arrested on charges of kidnapping, terroristic threatening, third-degree domestic battery and endangering the welfare of a minor, records show.

Officers responded around 11 a.m. Monday to a home in the 1000 block of Booker Street, according to a report from the city's Police Department.

A 26-year-old woman told police that Williams, the father of her 4-year-old son, came to pick her up Sunday night and drove her to a residence in the 3400 block of West 10th Street.

There, Williams became angry during an argument with her and punched her in the face before throwing her to the ground and tying her wrists with zip-ties, the report states.

Williams then tied the woman -- who was also secured with duct tape on her arms and mouth -- to the sofa bed in the living room and left her, according to authorities.

The 26-year-old said she was able to escape Monday morning by biting her way out of the zip-ties and tape, which left her with bruising to her left cheek near her nose and both wrists.

When officers arrived at Williams' home, a 14-year-old girl who answered the door said several times that only she and the 4-year-old boy were at home, authorities noted.

Police later heard furniture being moved and objects being placed in front of the door, at which point additional resources, including the department's SWAT team, were called.

Inside, authorities eventually found Williams hiding under the couch cushions of a sofa bed, according to the report. The 4-year-old child was found in a bedroom.

While being taken to a patrol vehicle, Williams reportedly began pulling away from police, prompting an officer to grab him by the shoulder and upper chest and "take him to the ground."

Authorities said Williams later held on to the undercarriage of the patrol car and laid down before being secured in the vehicle. He also attempted to "wrap the seatbelt around his neck," the report states.

According to police, Williams began banging his head on the table during an interview and was taken to a hospital. The Little Rock resident's name did not appear in online records for the Pulaski County jail as of Tuesday morning.
