NLR man accused of threat with gun

North Little Rock police officers used a Taser on Friday to stun a man accused of pointing a handgun at his wife and fleeing police.

A youth told officers that her stepfather pointed a gun at her mother after her mother refused to let him inside the house, according to a police report. Jacent Lamont Winston, 36, reportedly banged on the front door and bedroom window of the house before forcing his way inside.

The youth told officers Winston ordered her to go to her bedroom, and she crawled out of the bedroom window and called 911 because she feared for her mother's life, according to the report.

When the officers responded to the 911 call about 1 a.m. Friday, they met a naked woman and an "agitated and belligerent" Winston, who tried to slam the front door in officers' faces, according to the report.

Officers forced their way into the house, and Winston fled toward the kitchen, police said. Winston assumed a "fighting stance," the report said, and officers used a Taser to subdue him.

Winston's wife refused to give officers any more information about the incident and denied that Winston had pointed a gun at her, according to the report. Officers said they found a Ruger .380 handgun on the bedroom floor.

North Little Rock police arrested Winston on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Winston was booked into the Pulaski County jail Friday but was not listed on the jail's inmate roster Saturday evening.

When Callicutt attempted to flee and resisted arrest, deputies shocked him with a stun gun, according to the report.
