NWA Fishing report

Beaver Lake

Black bass and crappie are biting, reports James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers. Alabama rigs, jerk baits or swim baits are the top lures for black bass. Minnows or jigs are working for crappie 15 to 18 feet deep around wood cover. Striped bass are scattered. Fishing for them has slowed, Whittle said.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie fishing is good. Limits of good-sized crappie are being caught 10 to 15 feet deep around wood cover. Most people are crappie fishing and not going after anything else, Whitehouse said.
