Merri Roy, BSN, RN-BC, CPHIMS, clinical informatics coordinator at Washington Regional Medical Center, recently earned designation as a certified professional in health information and management systems. Roy, who joined Washington Regional in 2013, earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Baylor University. She has attained certification in nursing professional development and nursing informatics.

Gabe Wight joined WhyteSpyder as senior vice president of client innovations. Wight has more than two decades of experience helping manufacturers develop brands and achieve sales growth goals, having held leadership positions at Saatchi and Saatchi X, MARS Advertising, New Lion Media Group and Banded Holdings.

Debra Layton was named executive director of the Bentonville-based Peel-Compton Foundation. She recently served as interim president and CEO for the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce and was a Wal-Mart Stores Inc. executive.

James McCarty, manager of environmental quality for Beaver Water District, was elected to the board of directors of the Beaver Watershed Alliance on Jan. 8. McCarty fills the position representing regional drinking water districts on the board.

Zach Hocker, a former University of Arkansas and NFL player, joined Sage Partners as an associate of its brokerage division. Hocker was the starting place kicker for four consecutive years at the University of Arkansas and is the current record holder as the program's all-time leading scorer. After college, he was drafted to the Washington Redskins.

Hayden Lee, BSN, RN, CEN, an emergency department nurse at Washington Regional, recently achieved certification in emergency nursing. Lee, who has been with Washington Regional for two years, earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Arkansas Tech University. He achieved additional certifications in nursing and life support for trauma patients, pediatric patients and stroke patients. Lee is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association.

Charlene Kelley was hired as director of accounts and business development at Kendal King Group. Kelley worked for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Acosta Sales & Marketing, Advantage Sales & Marketing, Timex Group, Johnson & Johnson and National Retail Services.

Hollan Woods, CPA, was promoted by HoganTaylor LLP to senior manager, tax, at the firm's Fayetteville office. Woods joined HoganTaylor in 2008. She has a bachelor of science in business administration and a master of accountancy from the University of Arkansas.

Taylor Townsend, CPA, was promoted by HoganTaylor LLP to senior, tax, at the firm's Fayetteville office. Townsend joined HoganTaylor in 2017. He earned a bachelor of science in business administration and a master of science in accountancy from the University of Arkansas.

Meredith Jones was named director of Harding University -- Northwest Arkansas. Jones has been an assistant principal, instructional facilitator and a middle-level mathematics and special education teacher for the past 11 years.
