Body lacks name, but three men jailed

Three men have been arrested in Johnson County in connection with a homicide, according to a news release Tuesday from the Johnson County sheriff's office.

A body was found Monday on a logging road off Arkansas 123 in the northeastern part of the county, according to a second news release from the sheriff's office Tuesday.

The body was sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory for identification.

David Gibbons, prosecuting attorney for Arkansas' 5th Judicial Circuit, said the body hadn't been identified as of Tuesday.

"The arrests occurred before the body was found," he said.

According to the first news release Tuesday, and Johnson County jail logs, police arrested Issac T.M. Vaughn, 20, of Paris, on Jan. 12; Brian A. White, 21, of Clarksville on Friday; and Phillip A. Raible, 29, of Clarksville on Sunday.

All three appeared before Circuit Judge William Pearson on Monday, and bond was set at $750,000 for each man, according to the release. They are scheduled for a second court appearance March 1.

The news release states that the men were arrested on first-degree murder charges, but Gibbons said formal charges have yet to be filed.

The arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Johnson County sheriff's office and the Arkansas State Police.

According to the first release Tuesday, the arrests were "the result of an investigation that lasted over three weeks."
