FORT SMITH -- Mercy Fort Smith has opened a flu clinic to help treat the high number of people in the area who have flu-like symptoms.
The Mercy Seasonal Flu Clinic opened at 2717 S. 74th St. near Mercy Hospital Fort Smith and behind the Mercy Medical Tower. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the hospital.
The clinic will be open for the next four to six weeks to help with the large number of people seeking care, the release said. The news release said the flu was at epidemic levels and the clinic will help reduce the number of people crowding emergency rooms and primary care clinics.
The clinic is available to anyone and will remain open as long as there is a need, the release said.
