Martaveous McKnight finished with 25 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff improved to 5-0 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with a victory over Alcorn State on Monday in Pine Bluff.
The Golden Lions (5-14), who made 11 three-pointers, led 30-26 at halftime. They shot 22 of 52 (42.3 percent) from the floor.
Charles Jackson scored 17 points for UAPB. Travon Harper added 11 points. Alcorn State (5-14, 1-5) had two players with 10 points in A.J. Mosby and Yalen Reed.

Trasity Totten scored 20 points, but the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff lost its fourth consecutive game, falling to Alcorn State on Monday in Pine Bluff. The Lady Lions (3-12, 1-4 SWAC) committed 27 turnovers.
Noe’ll Taylor had 11 points and Destiny Brewton added 10 points for UAPB. Miracle Rushing led Alcorn State (7-10, 3-3) with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Alexus Freeman scored 15 points. Jada Hargrove and Tia Sanders each had 13 points.
